The 3 Golden Rules for Paintball Newbs

New to paintball?

No one forgets their first time.

The apprehension of the task ahead, the uncertainty of what to expect once the action kicks off, the doubt over your performance and, of course, the big question: what safety precautions will be used? Even paintballs pros start somewhere though, so if you’re new to paintball and worried about giving it a go for the first time, let us put your mind at rest.

First of all, don’t tell anyone it’s your first time – they’ll only make you more of a target. Instead swagger in with all the cock-sure attitude of Clint Eastwood-meets-Jason Statham, and then simply follow these 3 golden rules….simples.

1. Always listen to your marshal. Whether they’re imparting vital mission objectives, debriefing you on essential safety matters or just cracking a joke, always pay attention. Paintball marshals like to share their knowledge and experience, so grab it while it’s available.

2. Don’t break any rules. Doing so will undoubtedly make you look like the new boy.

3. Think before you fire. The temptation’s to run screaming through the woods, spraying everything in sight with paint right? Well look around you. Are the more experienced players doing this? No? Well maybe you shouldn’t then either. Use your head and think ‘strategy’.

Those are 3 grea ttips for paintball newbies. it’s so easy to target the newbies who are just spraying everything they can in sight. Works in computer games… doesn’t work so much in real life!

Now you make me feel bad for hazing the newcomers 😀

Aha! That’s why I got the most shot on my first try. Anyways, moving forward… I won’t share this with my new friends since they are new comers. Time for my revenge! Hahaha!

Very true, Marshal always gives tips to newbie as long as they feel like telling it to you. I like the number 3 tip because as far as I remember till my 3 time of playing paintball… I kept on running and kept on laughing while shooting. I know… I know… I look like a jerk. Anyways thanks for the tip.

Great tip! I hope I can apply it this weekend’s event. After reading this post I can say I am pretty darn ready to aim and shoot!
