But is it art?

Marilyn Monroe Paintball Art

Continuing this week’s surprise theme of creative paintball usage, I stumbled across this example of art-imitating-life-imitating-art. I posted a link to a similar video on our Twitter a while back, which demonstrates a machine called the FacadePrinter, which can propel paintballs at any given wall with minute accuracy, creating massive impromptu urban works of art.

However, this version is hands-down much cooler. I’ve no idea how they did it and what sort of sick training schedule they must’ve had but, you can’t deny, this is quite something alright!

PS – this definitely comes a close second.

Wow, that’s incredible what they’ve done!

Still prefer how the mythbusters do it 😉 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nUYg8b9UCQ

    Not art, still awesome.

Such a waste of paintballs 🙁

  • Sam

Sorry guys…But for me it is…
Yeah! But I have to agree that it is such a waste of paint balls..
How about let them fight instead and have it recorded on cam… Let’s see live actions…

  • Glaker

Yeah! Your right Sam! Let’s see some fighting and action! Love reading blogs about paintball! Love this game…

  • Samuel

That’s stuff is quite hard. Great art and good results! I salute the person who got this idea. Now, paintball is not just for fun and it can be an art as well.

Saw the video on youtube twice and I can see that they did a lot of preparation for this Marilyn Monroe portrait. What happen to the finish product? Did they display it in a museum?

  • Seff

I like this video. Not the usual video you can see on youtube. Plus, it is really interesting. Because of this video I want to try it out as well if I can do it on my own. LoL

  • Dave

The picture above the video is already a work of art. Look at those men who are ready to aim and shoot. I don’t want to be in front of these guys. I might get covered with paint.

  • Vernon

Amazing! I wonder who the person behind this master plan is. He might be a diehard fan of paintball though I hope this art can be done by a single person and not a group so it will be double interesting to see.
