Rocky Balboa working out

We’re sure professional (and rookie) sports coaches use tried and tested ‘psych up’ songs to get their teams pumped for the big match etc, as we often see in American high school movies, but it’s not just athletes that like this sort of thing. For getting into the best mindset for heading into a paintball battle, or any kind of team-on-team affair, we recommend you set your amp to 11 and give these tracks a blast.

Lose Yourself
– Eminem

Does it get any more motivational than this? Taken from his 8 Mile movie, Lose Yourself is a call to arms which could probably even get your gran energised about making another cup of tea.

The Final Countdown
– Europe

Yeah sure it’s a little dated now, but it’s from Rocky! And not just any Rocky, the one where he defeats Drago no less.

Welcome To the Jungle – Guns ‘n’ Roses

Wow. Not only does this chugging, threatening epic open what is probably the greatest rock ‘n’ roll album of all time (Appetite for Destruction) but it’s also rather fitting to our woodland locations. Welcome to the jungle…

Eye of the Tiger -Survivor

Okay, it’s Rocky again but that just proves our point – the man knew the best music for the job. A bit of a feel good number which, if there were concrete steps nearby, would have us jogging up them and waving our arms towards the sky in no time.

Back In Black – AC/DC

Everyone loves this song: fact. And if it’s good enough for Iron Man, then it’s good enough for us.

What’s your all-time favourite song for getting psyched up to?
